Well, the thing is like this, a lot of people from my mother's side of the family has died from cancer, but thank God my mother doesn't have it nor my brother. I would like to know if I am still at risk to get it. Maybe simple test I could get done to be sure I am healthy (Like a blood test) There has been more than two persons with the same type of cancer that killed members of my family (Like brain cancer,lung and colon) I even heard about a virtual colon cancer test (is that even possible? :0) Maybe anybody who had or has cancer could help me knowing a better way to take care of myself, a better diet. Anything is gonna be good. Thank you!

I am not able to get a job of any type due to the fact that I must care for my husband at least 18 hours a day due to illness. This illness is chronic. Is there anyway here in Texas that I may receive some sort of compensation for this "job" that I perform 7 days a week, At least 18 hours a day. 365 days a year!
My husband is retired and we receive his social security check. But that alone is not enough for 2 persons to live on! I cant leave him alone to go a work at a job. And even if I could, we could not afford a sitter to come in while I work. The sitter would probably make more an hour than I could! I've done eBay and all, but dont have anything else to sell off!
Is there any way to receive compensation for being a caregiver to your spouse in Texas?
Or any ideas of some REAL jobs that dont cost to start that I could do from my home while I care for him?
My husband has Ankylosing Spondylitis along with a colostomy due to colon cancer in advanced stage.
Thank y'all but I've tried all the DHS stuff. We receive $10 a month FStamps with a $1074 social sec. check only. And no, my husband was'nt a vet. Just an ol' log truck driver here in Texas!

I had a dream last night about my mom. I'll get to that in a sec. I live with her, and we could be closer than we are.. 2 years ago she had a near death experience. Her colon ruptured, and she had to have emergency surgery. It was colon cancer, and then after she was home from the hospital she got an infection and had to go back for a few more months, and then got a blood clot. Anyway, the point is she's been through a lot. I had a dream that she had leukemia. In it, she went to go pick up my best friend of 14 years( who in real life I've drifted apart from her and her mom) had new born puppies that were for some reason in the car with them. My mom coughed on the puppy, and my best friend's mom threw a fit because she was going to sell it for money. Then I suddenly was in the kitchen with my mom and she said that she went to the doctor because of a cough, and she started to cry and told me she had leukemia. and I start to cry really hard, which is weird because honestly i think i would be too shocked to cry right away in that situation. Almost done.....and then I was talking to my best friend's mom and she was complaining about the puppy and how my mom made it sick by coughing on it...and I told her she has leaukemia, and she said "boo-hoo." and didn't care.

I can't believe this. My father in law left my husband and the whole family for another women and really didn't care about what her left behind. Only for everyone to suffer. My huband as not seen his father for like 4 years and now a month and 2 weeks ago he was in the hospital with pain. They found colon cancer, removed colon, the one week spreaded to his liver, and then 3 weeks after that it's in his lungs. He now has fluid going to his brain. I just can't belive that in the amount of time he went from walking around normal to know they say he won't make it to the end of the week. I guess I have to face and my husband to that he is just going to die and there is nothing we can change. I ca't belive a man could walk away from his family and not look back. There was not time to heal from this and now we all have to go on from this of what he did.

I guess my question is has anyone gotten to far with death like this and just pulled out of it? Thank you!
