Pancreatic cancer survival rate?
My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in oct 04'. He went through a procedure where they take some of his insides our and re-tie. i heard it was called the whipple procedure or something like that. They were only able to take half of the cancerous tumor out and the other half they were hoping treatments would take care of it.
he is still alive and the recent news is that the treatments for the remaining cancer caused it to shrink 50%. so thats good new. the downfall is that they found a small bit in his colon, it is early that it can possibly be taken out. since it has been 2 1/2yrs fighting this, is it possible to be able to beat this?
my father is very possitive, the doctors are astounded that he has survived this long. Even the doctor who did his surgery called my fathers current doctor to see when he had passed and was shocked that he was still alive.
Can we beat this? thanks.
Colonoscopy information/advice?
I have recently had some digestive issues and feel that I should check my colon. However, I have NO health care. I'm a little perturbed, and scared. Can you all give me any advice?
You guys aren't getting the question. I have NO health care. Is there anyway to get a colonoscopy for free or, more realistically, with a deductible of sorts? That is the question.
How can I do more for a friend that is far away, and needs help?
I have a friend in West Haven Ct., and I live in Texas. She was diagnosed last year with breast cancer, and had to have a total masectomy. Then after that, her husband left her. She moved in with her Mom, and then her Mother developed Altzymers. Now Yvonne has her to care for, and tries to take care of herself as well. She financially does not have much, so I once in a while will help her with something she needs. Now, last night she called me crying sayting the doctors found a tumor in he colon. She is pretty sure that the cancer has spread. Can I ask anyone out there to pray for her. Im asking all my friends, and I thought it wont hurt if I ask you out there as well! Any advice for her or suggestions?

He is in his mid-20's. What advice can I share with him?
Take Care of Your Colon
The way we lead our lives these days and the kind of food we have, it is no wonder that our colon is burdened with more than it can cope with. With the tendency towards having highly processed food, one of the most critical elements of our diet fiber is being left out. The result has been in many cases irregular bowel movements, constipation, severe stomach aches etc. To counter such problems many people are seeking an alternative in colon cleansing.
The chief function of our colon is to drive away the waste material and bacteria inside our body and absorb water along with mineral salts so that the fluid and electrolyte balance is maintained. When a colon, because of impacted fecal matter cannot perform these functions normally, toxins are created inside our body which can spread all through our body and may be absorbed by the fluids inside our body.
Our colon is made to handle anything between 5 to 25 pounds of waste matter at a time. But since our dietary habits and our lifestyle have gone through a significant change our colon often finds it difficult to deal with the huge accumulation that happens every day. Before it starts showing serious problems it is always a good idea to get our colon cleansed. This will ensure nothing serious happens in the long run and we can enjoy a fit and healthy body all our life.
One of the most effective ways of getting your colon cleansed is to go for colon hydrotherapy. This process involves the insertion of a tube through your anus into the colon. Plenty of pure water is poured into the colon through the tube to flush out the contents of the colon. This is a natural method and doesn't involve any use of drugs. So it is completely safe in that sense. It may be a bit weird feeling for the first time you experience it but you get used to it in subsequent sessions. A colon hydrotherapy program would require you to attend 10 to 12 sessions over a period of two months, each session spanning for something around 45 to 60 minutes. At the end of the program you get a colon that is free, clean and healthy. You will find new energy in yourself and a renewed interest in life and its activities. A colon cleanse can literally change your life.
